As is right in Te Ao Mäori – please allow me to introduce myself

My thoughts return to the peak of my mountain Hikurangi.
They descend to the spiritual waters of my river Waiapu.
Returning to my homeland Otumarae, Horoera, Te Araroa
To my beloved sub tribe Te Whanau a Hunaara – guardians of the sea
To my tribe Ngati Porou
To my Rangihuna family
My thoughts return finally to my marae.....Hinerupe and Matahi-o-te-tau
And I hear them whisper – “welcome home moko.....welcome home”

My name is Bessie Rangihuna

We are a small family run boutique business specialising in handcrafted NZ Maori Folk crafts
We do not mass produce, all of our items have been hand crafted and differ slightly in design; this makes for the perfect gift.
We source our materials from NZ owned and operated business’ we are currently working with five independent operators thus far.
We are suppliers to schools, early childhood educators, gift shops, kapa haka groups and individuals.
Each classroom order of poi and rakau include two teaching manuals. These manuals are loaded with activities, directives, Te Reo Maori, diagrams, chords, songs, ideas, games, assessment suggestions and an audio CD.
We develop comprehensive user friendly teaching packs designed to help classroom teachers who have little or no Te Reo Maori (Maori language). Please feel free to approach us with your unit/topic requirements and we will create a resource catering specifically for your needs.
We also provide unique gifts for overseas visitors, whanau and corporate organisations.
