Greetings to all our members worldwide
May this new year of 2012  bring you hope and answers to the many questions that we all have in life?  As you all know my Vice President is away in Canada spending precious time with her youngest daughter and two grandchildren, and I cannot help but reflect when our children grow up and leave the protection and security of our homes, part of our hearts dwell with them as well.  The beautiful and very truthful writings of Wanita in Canada as a young single Mum brings home the reality of her struggles to survive day by day so it is on this theme that we take out the time to think and pray for our single Mums in the world.
The older I get, the less prone I am to believe in coincidence.  I believe that God has an individualized divine plan for you and me and I gladly and eagerly acknowledge his hand in all things, including the orchestration of events in our lives and the interlacing of our daily associations.   I also believe he brings people in to our path who can bless and enlighten us,  and I know that He brings us into contact with people whose acquaintanceship will, open doors, dissolve barriers and further the works that we are all doing as individuals or groups.  In spite of growing wickedness, a surprising number of men and women throughout the earth are being led to greater light and knowledge, to the gradual realization of their own fallen nature, and their need for spiritual change.
Our wairua (spirits) long for us to remember the truth about who we are, because the way we see ourselves, or our sense of identity, affects everything we do.   It affects the way we behave, the way we respond to uncertainty, the way we see others, the way we handle pressure and disappointment, the way we feel about ourselves, and the way we make choices.  In short, it determines how we live our lives.  So, the question we might all do well to ponder is not only who we are, but who we have always been?
What if our conflicts with others we want something more than solutions?  What if conflicts at home, conflicts at work and conflicts in the world stem from the same root cause?  What if individually and collectively we systematically misunderstand that cause and unwittingly perpetuate the very problems we think we are trying to solve?  The ‘Heart at War’is where we see others as objects and ‘The Heart at Peace’ is where we see others as people.
He who is seeking for happiness alone seldom finds it, but he who lives for the welfare of others, who loses himself to give happiness to others, finds that a double portion has come to himself.  We make a living by what we get, but we build a life by what we give.  It is through giving, rather than getting that the Spirit of Christ enters our lives……Let us listen for the sound of his sandaled feet.
 With much aroha (love)
